Youth PWR Secures National Lottery Grant for Digital Futures Programme in Croydon

Youth PWR is pleased to share that we have been awarded £20,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver our Digital Futures Programme for young people in Croydon and surrounding areas.

Digital Futures is a practical, six-week creative media programme designed for young people aged 16–25, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Building on our earlier Creative Digital Media Bootcamp, the programme will give participants hands-on training in film production, podcasting, radio, and photography, led by experienced media professionals.

Alongside developing technical skills, young people will be supported to build confidence, grow their networks, and create strong portfolios that can be used to access further training, employment, or freelance opportunities in the creative industries. We also know how important safe, positive spaces are for young people to connect, feel seen, and develop a sense of belonging, so the programme will place real emphasis on community and wellbeing throughout.

The funding will help us cover key delivery costs including sessional tutors, venue and equipment hire, participant support, refreshments, and outreach to ensure young people who would benefit most can access the programme free of charge.

We are grateful to National Lottery players for making this support possible, and we are excited to work with local partners, schools, colleges and community organisations to reach young people across Croydon.

Interested in taking part or partnering with us? If you are a young person (16–25), a parent/carer, school, college or community organisation and would like to refer someone, please get in touch with us via our website or email our team.

Thank you again to The National Lottery Community Fund for backing Youth PWR and helping young people in Croydon develop skills, confidence and future opportunities.
