Youth PWR is pleased to present the Trustees’ Annual Report for the year ending March 2023. This report encapsulates a year of remarkable progress, resilience, and adaptability in empowering young individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The report underscores the impactful role of Youth PWR's skills enrichment programmes. Young people have harnessed the support to cultivate skills and access information that not only enhance their capacities but also contribute to their becoming mature and responsible individuals in society. This empowerment subsequently transforms them into conduits of engagement and education for their peers in their immediate surroundings.
Over the year, our Social Action Programme saw young participants conceptualise and execute short-term social actions. This experience equipped them with a spectrum of skills, ranging from leadership and time management to strategic planning and marketing.
The report also sheds light on the escalating cost-of-living crisis throughout the 2022-2023 financial year. Recognising that this crisis disproportionately affects low-income individuals, a majority of our young beneficiaries, the report outlines the organisation’s proactive steps to address this challenge. As a responsive measure, Youth PWR has commenced adapting its projects to provide targeted support in the face of this crisis.
In her opening address, Chair of the Youth PWR Charity Board of Trustees, Anu Kehinde said:
