Last Sunday, we had the incredible opportunity to come together for our first ever PWR Cycle ride out, and we were thrilled with how it turned out! The ride took us from West Croydon to Trafalgar Square, with cyclists and skaters joining forces to raise awareness and support for the #Untimely campaign.
The ride itself was a huge success! We set off from West Croydon on Sunday Morning and cycled through London, taking in the sights and landmarks as we made our way to Trafalgar Square. Everyone involved had a fantastic time, and the atmosphere was filled with positivity and purpose. One of the most inspiring aspects of the day was seeing the sense of community that came together for such an important cause.
The #Untimely campaign is an initiative aimed at tackling serious topics such as knife crime, youth violence, and criminal grooming. With these issues tragically on the rise, particularly in London, our mission is to engage with young people directly, helping to educate and empower them to make better, safer choices. As part of the campaign, we deliver workshops in schools, discussing the dangers of knife crime, the risks of youth violence, and how to identify and avoid the grooming tactics that are often used to draw young people into dangerous situations. The PWR Cycle ride out was organised to raise funds for this important work, enabling us to expand our outreach and continue delivering workshops in schools in and around London.
Given the success of this ride, we’re already planning more charity rides in the future. The Youth PWR team is committed to making this a regular event, bringing people together to raise awareness for the #Untimely campaign and other causes that help to improve the lives of young people in our community.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, donated, and helped spread the word. Your support means the world to us and to the young people who benefit from our workshops. Keep an eye out for future rides. We want to give a special mention to dev2me, who led the ride and ensured that everyone stayed safe from start to finish. His leadership and attention to detail helped make sure that everyone felt supported throughout the journey!
