This September, PWR Magazine released a new feature on Dylan Aupetit for the Catalyst edition, exploring what it really means to champion equity in tech, not just in words, but in action. The piece was interviewed and written by our CEO, Dee Onigbanjo.

But for us at Youth PWR, this was not only about publishing a strong article. It was also about the experience that sat behind it.
Earlier in the summer, Dylan visited our Youth PWR office in Croydon and spent time with the team as we brought the Catalyst edition feature to life. The energy was calm but purposeful, the kind of day that reminds you why representation, access, and real relationships matter.
A visit that reflected our values
Dylan’s story speaks to something we see all the time in the lives of the young people we support, navigating spaces that were not designed with them in mind, learning to own their voice, and finding the confidence to lead anyway. In the interview, Dylan talks about curiosity, being willing to learn from anyone, and staying grounded through mentorship and service.
That message lands even more when it is not just read on a screen, but witnessed up close.
Having Dylan in the room created a different kind of moment for our young people. It made leadership feel human. It made “tech” feel less distant. And it reminded us that sometimes the biggest impact comes from simply showing up, being present, and making space for others.
Our young people were part of the production
A key part of Youth PWR’s work is creating opportunities that feel real, because they are real.
As part of the editorial shoot, a small group of our young creatives supported the production and got first-hand insight into what it takes to deliver a professional feature, from the behind-the-scenes rhythm to the standards, teamwork, and confidence needed on the day.
This is exactly why we built Youth PWR the way we did. We do not just talk about pathways, we try to open them. And PWR Magazine continues to be one of the ways we give young people meaningful exposure, practical experience, and a platform that raises the bar.

Why this matters for Youth PWR
We exist to empower young people, especially those facing barriers, through creativity, employability, and real-world opportunities that build confidence and direction.
Moments like this, a respected leader taking the time, a published feature with purpose, young people actively involved in the process, are not “extras” for us. They are part of the mission. They help young people see what is possible, and they help them imagine themselves in rooms they may not have pictured before.
